KanjiWord PRINTER INFORMATION:

The Following Printers and drivers are known to cause problems with KanjiWORD 3.0 or 3.5. Please read the following and note the corrections available for each printer. KanjiWORD will work with any Windows compatible printer, but some of the printer drivers (the software that tells the printer what to do) are not fully compatible for one reason or another. After installing KanjiWORD, please try to print first. If there is a problem, consult this list of information. If the print problem persists after following the advice below, please contact PSP technical support.

Since many of the Solutions involve installing alternate print drivers, the following instructions are provided on How to Install Print Drivers. A wide variety of printer drivers automatically come with Windows. They are provided for this type of situation when you need a standard printer driver.

1. To install, start by double-clicking on the Control Panel icon located in the Main group of the Program Manager or choose Start, Settings, Printers from Win95.

2. In the Control Panel window, choose the Printers icon.

3. Choose the Add button. If you have not installed a printer, Control Panel chooses the Add button for you. Win95 users, click Add Printer and follow the prompts.

4. In the List Of Printers box, select the printer you want to install. Choose the Install button. Go to step 8 if the printer you are installing uses the same printer driver as another printer already installed on your system.

5. Insert the disk or CD containing the printer driver, or type a drive letter and directory path in the text box. (If you are not a United States customer, the printer driver you need may be on the Additional Non-U.S.A. Printer Drivers disk.) You can also use the Browse button to find and select the drive and directory where the printer driver is located. When you finish using the Browse dialog box, choose the OK button.

6. In the Install Printer dialog box, choose the OK button. If you are installing a driver not auomatically included with Windows, a dialog box appears, listing several printers. Select the printer you want (the one suggested on the back of this page), and then choose the Install button.

7. If Control Panel prompts you for font files, insert the disk that contains font files. Then choose the OK button. The printer name appears in the list of installed printers.

8. Make sure the port (ex. LPT1) is the same as your original printer.

HP Laserjet 4M	Printout is very slow	Edit c:\windows\kword3.ini file. Change "FastFunctions=" from 1 to 0, save and then restart KW3.
